About Us
I started Goldcoast Drums having been disappointed with the selection of djembe drums on offer in the UK and the prices that were being charged. I wanted to make a better range of instruments available at affordable Fair Trade prices.
I initially started by bringing in half a dozen djembe drums and giving them to friends and family. The feedback was very positive, the drums sounded amzing and from there Goldcoast Drums was born...
As the popularity of djembe drums grew, I then moved to bring in half container loads of drums and then finally container loads not just of djembe drums but also dun duns, bougarabous drums, talking drums, peg drums, shakers, bells, bags and skins!
I now stock, sell and hundreds of African drums every year with djembe drums by far and away the most popular.
Goldcoast Drums Supplier
One of the reason for Goldcoast Druns success is because we have a reliable and honest supplier. Our manufacturer is renowed in Accra for producing high quality djembe drums that are meant to be played - NOT TOURIST DRUMS.
My supplier is Anthony Apobbi a professional drum maker and musician in Accra, Ghana. His family have a steep tradition of making djembe drums and other percussion items and take great pride in their work.
He checks out all the instruments before they are sent out and won't send anything to us that does not meet his professional standards.
All the djembe drums sold adhere to Fair Trade principles. Everything sold on this site is made using wood from Managed Forests (for every tree cut at least another is planted)
